Short Description The lecture will evaluate the problems of the eSports and internet infrastructure in Poland between 1999 and 2002, including the lack of developed organised leagues, the poor quality and low availability of home internet connections. It will show that it is those problems that have led to the development of internet cafes and the birth of major Polish esports stars such as team Meet Your Makers (Pentagram), Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski or Krzysztof "Draco" Nalepka.
